Con Air is an action thriller film directed by Simon West and starring John Malkovich, John Cusack, and Nicholas Cage. The movie may not have been a critical darling, but it grossed highly at the box office and is still considered a great action film by many movie fans.
Once a highly-decorated U.S Army Ranger, Cameron Poe (Nicholas Cage) is convicted for involuntary manslaughter after accidentally killing a drunk man who tried to harm his wife. He spends the next eight years in prison, earning parole for good behavior. Poe is put on the prisoner transport plane “The Jailbird” in order to be flown back to Alabama. Unfortunately, things don’t go so smoothly for Poe. Sharing the plane with him are dozens of some of the most dangerous criminals in the country, a handful of which take control of the plane. Afraid one of his friends on the plane may die from untreated diabetes, Poe stays on the plane regardless of an opportunity to get off. He plays along with the criminals, all the while trying to figure out a way to stop them from carrying out their diabolical plan. U.S Marshal Vince Larkin (Cusack), tasked with overseeing the prisoner plane, tries to help Poe reach his goal and stop the criminals. However, the criminal Cyrus “The Virus” Grissom tries to complicate their rescue plan with some more sinister plans of his own.
