Goosebumps

Goosebumps is a series of books written by RL Stine. The original series included 62 books that were published between 1992 and 1997.  Since 1997, R.L Stine has also authored spin-offs of the series. There are over 170 Goosebumps books and spin-offs to date.

Goosebumps are children’s horror fiction novels. The protagonists are always children. The tone of the books is a mixture of humor and horror.  And while the books themselves cover spooky and frightening topics, there is no death, drug use or excessive violence in any Goosebumps story. Stine has noted that the books were originally written for girls  but that they found popularity in both genders. The books tend to be around 120 pages although some almost reach 200 pages.
