Thompson however has a change of heart and helps Vivian make the transformation into a beautiful young woman whom Edward begins to form a strong attraction too.

As time goes by Vivian accompanies Edward to numerous events including a tense business dinner alongside Mr. Morse and his son, the owners of a corporation Edwards intends to purchase and dissemble. From there they attend a polo match where Edward reveals to his business partner Phillip (Jason Alexander) who Vivian really is, Vivian becomes angry when she hears Edward shared information about their relationship with his coworker and threatens to leave. Edward apologizes and takes Vivian to an opera in San Francisco on a private jet, when they return they share a romantic night together during which Vivian tells Edward she that she loves him. At the end of the week Edward tells Vivian he will arrange for her to have an apartment and provide a bank account for her so he can still see her.
