Ray Romano

Ray Romano is an American actor, screenwriter, and entertainer most famous for his role on the 90s sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. He has four children with his wife Anna Romano, whom he married in 1987.

Raymond Albert “Ray” Romano was born December 21, 1957 to Albert and Lucie Romano. He has an older brother Richard, and a younger brother Robert. His daughter, Ally, sometimes appeared on his sitcom throughout its airing.

Ray Romano started out in entertainment in 1989 as a stand up comedian. He did well and appeared on both Star Search and Comedy Central, but felt that it was not the best medium for his sense of humor. After appearing on Late Night with David Letterman, he forged the CBS connections necessary to start his show Everybody Loves Raymond.

Everybody Loves Raymond aired from 1996 to 2005 and was highly popular and critically received. In the show, Romano plays the notably similar Ray Barone as he struggles with family issues in his average daily life. The show broke records, earning the most of any TV show in history with revenue of 3.9 billion dollars.

He later created and starred in the sitcom Men of a Certain Age on TNT with former ELR writer Mike Royce. The show ran for two seasons.
