Shania Twain

Shania Twain is a country artist who rose to fame in 1995 with her album, ‘The Woman In Me’, selling over nine million copies. With that album she became a staple and icon in country music. Her image and music not only made her appealing to country fans but fans from other genres as well. Originally from Canada, Shania came from humble beginnings. She began performing as a kid, helping to pay the bills her parents could not afford.

After the success of her first album, Twain began working on her follow-up album ‘Come On Over’. From 1997 until 1999, she toured around the world, increasing her album sales to over 36 million. Shania’s personal life also began to flourish with a producer, Robert Lange. In 2001, Shania and Robert welcomed a son, Eja.

After taking a break from her music career to start a family, she returned from her hiatus in 2002 with a new album Up!. Compared to her other albums, Up! did not reach the same level of success but still went 11 times platinum. Shania is the only female artist to have three Diamond albums back to back. Not only is she an icon the in the U.S. but also has multi-platinum album sales in 32 countries.

In December of 2012, Shania began her two-year residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The show, which features her greatest hits, is titled ‘Shania: Still The One’ and will be performed at The Colosseum. Shania has told media outlets and fans that she plans on releasing her fifth album, but is waiting on the producer. Whether or not the album is released, Shania Twain will always be an icon in music, captivating fans around the world with her voice.
