The 90s TV Shows

Yogi Bear

Yogi Bear was created by Hanna-Barbera Productions and is a family cartoon character that appears in many animated television series, comic books, as well as films.

Yogi Bear first appeared on television in 1958, on The Huckleberry Hound Show. Since then, Yogi Bear has had many spinoff shows that include: The Yogi Bear Show (1961), Wake, Rattle, and Roll (1990-1991), and Yo Yogi! (1991).

Yogi was voiced by voice actor Daws Butler but his death in 1988 prompted the entry of Greg Burson to voice the role. Yogi has a few signature characteristics that have not changed over time. Such characteristics are his deep and silly voice and that he often speaks in rhyme. His catchphrases include his pet name for picnic baskets (“pic-a-nic baskets”) and his favorite self-promotion (“I’m smarter than the av-er-age bear!”).

His wide popularity led to the ongoing success of the character Yogi Bear.
