The Backstreet Boys debuted on the American music scene in 1996 with their first, self-titled album, Backstreet Boys.
The boy-band had five members: Nick Carter, A.J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson, and Brian Littrell.
Their next album, Backstreet’s Back, was released a year later in 2007. This was followed by Millennium (1999), with its hit single, “I Want It That Way”. This album was followed up by Black & Blue (2000). After a two year gap (for unknown reasons but it can be inferred there was tension within the group), the Backstreet Boys released their comeback album in 2005 titled, Never Gone. This album was the only album of theirs that featured live instruments.
In total, the Backstreet Boys have sold over 130 million records globally and this makes them the best-selling boy band in history.
In April 2013, the group received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
