Jesse Camp became famous in the late 90’s after winning the first Wanna Be a VJ contest on the MTV show, Total Request Live. In 1998, he won the contest after portraying himself as a ‘street kid’. Controversy arose when the public found out that he was not actually who he was portraying. He actually grew up in Connecticut and went to a prestigious boarding school.
However, he continued hosting occasionally on Total Request Live for about a year. Jesse also had his own show on MTV called Lunch with Jesse, but the show did not last long.
Following his hosting career, he began a rock band named Jesse & the 8th Street Kidz. The band did not get a warm reception from fans or critics and they were dropped from their label, Hollywood Records. Currently, Jesse Camp is reportedly working for a firm called ‘Telefund’ as a caller to raise money.
