Mall Madness

Mall Madness is a shopped theme board game created and released by Milton Bradley in 1988 for ages 9 and up. An electronic talking version was released in 1989 with a new design shortly after the original. Included in the boxed set: game board, electronic computer, instruction manual, rubber pads to prevent the pieces from slipping, plastic wall pieces, four cardboard shopping lists, two sale and one clearance sign, 8 plastic pawns, 40 plastic pegs, paper money, four cardboard credit cards, and 29 pieces of cardboard that holds the actual game together.

The premise of the game begins with 2 players receiving $150 from another player with the title of banker. The first player presses the computer gameplay button, this tells the player how many spaces to move landing on a store. At the store each player must make a purchase with his or her cardboard credit card on the computer. After the purchase is made the player will pay the banker the amount of cash owed for the purchase. At the beginning of the game an electronic voice announces that there will be a clearance item at one store and a sale at two others. Once a player gets six of the items on their list they must go to the parking lot, the first player to reach this wins.

Milton Bradley manufactured the electronic computer used in the game in the USA. The design of the computer featured three buttons: one to begin and reset the game, one to begin and end turns, and one to repeat the last voice announcement made. Another large component of the game was its currency more specifically the paper cash and credit cards. In total four credit cards were included: Fast Cash, Quick Draw, Mega Money, and Easy Money. In late 2004 the last updated version was released
