Steve-Urkel-top-700x500

Steve Urkel is an exaggerated, stereotypical geek who was primarily in the show for extra comic relief. He is known for his odd appearance, which included high white socks that were exposed by his high-riding suspender jeans, plaid button-up shirts and sweaters, and thick-framed glasses attached to a safety rope. His character was equally outrageous, being involved in unfortunate mishaps and creating questionable inventions.

Even though Steve was mostly used for gag jokes, he did have an important role in the drama. Eventually, he become more mature, proposes to Laura, and even has a child. However, in the hearts of TV-loving Americans, he will always be remembered as the silly, awkward, geeky kid with a nasally voice and too-high pants.
