Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods is one of the most successful golfers in the world.  He has won over 105 tournaments, including many PGA Tours and Master Tournaments.  Tiger was the first person to ever hold all four of the major championship titles at once.  Since turning pro in 1996, he has beaten many records, holds many prestigious titles, and at one point was the highest paid athlete in the world.

In 1997, Tiger won his first Masters, after only being a professional golfer for one year.  He had many endorsement deals with companies such as Nike, Inc., General Motors, American Express and Titleist.  In 2000, he had won nine out of the twenty PGA Tour events and was named ‘Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year’ twice.

In 2009, Tiger was involved in a major infidelity scandal.  Woods was accused of numerous infidelities with women from all over.  After his confession he announced that he would be taking a break from professional golf.  Many of the companies that he had endorsements with, ended their sponsorship deals. He also went into a 45-day treatment program after this news hit.

Woods returned back to professional golf in 2010.  It took him some time to get back to the level of playing that he was at when he left the sport.  In 2013, he worked his way back up to the number one ranking.  Tiger has also created the ‘Tiger Woods Foundation’, a charity that gives underprivileged youth the chance to go to college.
