Duke Nukem

Duke Nukem is a series of video games and the game series is named after its protagonist, Duke Nukem.

The game was originally created by Apogee Software Ltd./3D Realms specifically for the PC, however, the game franchise became available on various consoles through third party developers. The original game, Duke Nukem, is a two dimensional platform game with 16-color EGA graphics with vertical and horizontal scrolling.

The series has four games, the first of which is only available for PCs and was released in 1991. In all of the games, the voice of Duke Nukem is Jon St. John.

The protagonist, Duke Nukem, is a self-proclaimed hero that was hired by the CIA to save Earth from the mad scientist Dr. Proton. He is a hyper-masculine tough-guy and irresistible to women, which is apparent when he becomes surrounded by many women desirous of him. Duke Nukem is essentially an amalgamation of many different Hollywood action heroes. One such character is those played by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
