Jerry Maguire follows a struggling sports agent of the same name. By the end of the movie Tidwell grows to become a personal friend and massive success, staying true to the philosophy in the article, and Jerry finds love with the previously heartbroken Dorothy.
The movie was a box office hit in 1996 and garnered 5 nominations for the Academy Awards that year, not to mention a nomination for best picture at the Golden Globes. Both Cruise and Gooding Junior won their respective awards at the Golden Globes for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor.
