Moon shoes were shoes fitted for children that had springs in them, making the children jump higher and feel like there was no gravity just like on the moon. They were basically like little trampolines for children’s feet.
Moon shoes were originally created in the 1970s, but were made out of metal and fit over a person’s real shoes. The newer and more kid friendly version was produced by Nickelodeon. These had were made out of plastic, thus making them much safer, and featured closed sides and bungee styled springs.
